If our beneficial supply chain increases fonio farming productivity, we’ll need to provide processing capacity that can absorb all that additional volume, and pay a fair price to the smallholders who grow fonio. That processing capacity must also meet the quality requirements of the developed world. That means no sand in your fonio! There is no commercial scale fonio mill in all of West Africa – and that means none in all the world.
We’re teaming up with one of the leading lights of the local and organic food movement in Senegal to build the world’s first commercial scale fonio mill. We are so excited to be contributing to the development of African-owned production capabilities!
