How to Make Fonio in the Microwave
In a bowl, stir a tsp of oil into 1/2 cup Yolélé fonio until grains are well coated. Add a pinch of salt and 1 cup water and stir well. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and cook for 2 minutes. Let it sit for two minutes, covered. Fluff with a fork, serve hot or cold + enjoy!
Fonio is known as the forgiving grain – if it comes out soggy, cook it for another minute or two. If it comes out dry and undercooked, add a little water, cover, and cook again. It always recovers. Remember to fluff fonio while it’s hot!
